Abstract:
Harnessing the unusual properties of quantum systems could pave the way for new technologies such as quantum computation, communication and quantum enhanced measurement. We present the theoretical concepts and experimental results on the generation and characterization of quantum photon states with reconfigurable entanglement in integrated nonlinear photonic circuits and metasurfaces. We also demonstrate a classical-quantum correspondence for arbitrary nonlinear dielectric, plasmonic, and metamaterial nanostructures, enabling characterization of structure performance in quantum regime through classical sum-frequency generation. Then, we present a scalable approach to on-chip tomography, where several inputs are mapped to larger number of outputs, enabling full reconstruction of the quantum density matrix.
