“The impostor syndrome refers to the notion that some individuals feel as if they ended up in esteemed roles and positions not because of their competencies, but because of some oversight or stroke of luck” (Feenstra et al. (2020), 11, 3206, Front. Psychol., Contextualizing the Impostor “Syndrome”). Impostor syndrome is very common among academics. Olya Vvedenskaya will give a 1 hour seminar on the definition of the syndrome, the prevalence in academic population and an overview of symptoms. Additionally, the speaker will talk about how to overcome the syndrome and facilitate a discussion.
This event is a joint cooperation between the Student Committee and the Graduate School of the Institute, and is supported by URgesund, the University's Health Management.
