Invited Talk: Prof. Sibylle Günter

Prof. Günter completed her physics studies in Rostock in 1987. She is a theoretical physicist and in 2000 became the youngest woman to ever be appointed as director of the Max Planck Society. Furthermore, she is the scientific director of the Wendelstein 7-X nuclear fusion research facility. She is currently head of the Tokamak Physics Department at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP).

Dear GRK members,


we are excited to tell you that we were able to convince Prof. Sibylle Günter from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) to give a talk at our GRK colloquium next Thursday 2nd March at the usual time slot of 15:00 to 16:00 in lecture hall 1.
The Rostock alumni will be introducing her research on dense plasmas as well as giving an overview of her career as a researcher.
As scientific director of the IPP, she is a world-leading expert in the theory of plasma physics as well as the status of the development of fusion power plants. We hope to learn a lot about these exciting topics!
We believe that besides the scientific value we - as young researchers - can greatly benefit from Prof. Günter sharing her experience and expertise with us.
