Abstract
In the framework of this work, numerous insights into the field of two-dimensional (2D) materials, in particular transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and perovskites, were obtained. Low-frequency Raman spectroscopy was established as an efficient method to identify atomic reconstruction as well as the twist angle for moiré lattices. Furthermore, time-resolved photoluminescence measurements on interlayer excitons in TMDC-HS revealed that the twist angle in heterostructures at 0° and 60° (R- and H-type) has a pronounced impact on spin polarization dynamics and the effective g-factor. Moreover, a time-resolved two-color pump–probe setup tailored for 2D materials was developed and used to investigate the layered 2D perovskites of the type butylammonium methylammonium lead iodide ((BA)(MA)PbI) by means of differential reflectance and Kerr rotation spectroscopy with respect to their spin polarization dynamics. These measurements demonstrated that in this material system the carrier lifetime exceeds the spin polarization lifetime by several orders of magnitude, thereby explaining the observed absence of a stationary spin polarization.
