Research team members benefit from frank conversations with mentors and team leaders. But often (PhD) students and team members feel not empowered to initiate them. Dragonfly Mental Health's "Managing Upward: Optimizing Student-Supervisor Communication" is a two hour, interactive workshop that will introduce you to the concept of “Managing Upwards”.
Additionally, you’ll learn strategies and techniques that will improve your ability to set expectations, establish and renegotiate boundaries, and anticipate and address issues that arise. Small group practice sessions help you integrate these skills and make them immediately usable in the real world.
This workshop is organised by the Mental Health Initiative of the Institute of Physics and financed by URgesund.
