Study for a doctorate

After having received the Diploma degree or the Master degree, respectively, graduates can proceed with their scientific qualification working in  one of the different research groups of the Institute of Physics. Usually this research is done in projects granted by third-party donors like Deutsche Forschungegemeinschaft, BMBF, and industry. The scientific results achieved can be the basis for a doctorate.

Besides, there are advanced lectures and graduate seminars to provide a broad physical background. The doctoral resarchers are encouraged early to attend national and international conferences and to perform scientific stays in other institutions. Thus they are well-prepared for the job market in science and academics.
